Poor "Temptation"

Well I'm sure many of you read last night's food list and wondered "What happened to the chicken, broccoli, and rice?".  "Temptation" decided to be nice and cook dinner for me while I was at the gym last night.  As he was taking the chicken out of the marinade to put it in the pan he got some of the marinade on his finger and, without thinking about it until it was too late, licked it off.  *cue the dramatic music here*

Well once the chicken was cooked he insisted that it looked freezer burned and started a texting war with me while I was at the gym on whether or not it was safe to eat until I finally told him to wait for me to get home because it's not easy to walk uphill at 3.3 mph while texting; trust me it's not.

I finally caved and picked him up to go out because he insisted that he was not going to eat the chicken no matter what I said.  Joy of joys.  Well when we got home from dinner and I looked at the chicken I just don't see the freezer burn he claims was "really bad" ... I don't see freezer burn on it at all actually.  I think he pulled a fast one on me so I covered the chicken and put it in the fridge.

So tonight after the gym I cubed up the chicken and tossed it in a stock pot with veggie broth, green beans, sweet corn, carrots, garlic, white wine, noodles, beef seasoning, and black pepper and cooked up a nice soup.  "Temptation" called it "prison food", pushed it around his bowl for 20 minutes while pouting pathetically and when I finally told him he didn't have to eat it he said it was disgusting and that it tasted like dirty veggies.  He dumped his bowl back in the pot and made a tuna sandwich.  I thought it was rather tasty ... but this is why I don't cook.

p.s. Increased salt yesterday and it worked, seven glasses of water and only woke up to pee once in the middle of the night.

  1. Like I said in my last post to you..He is greiving!! He will get over It! Tonight we had pizza on flatouts and Jack said what did we ever do with out these. He loves the things now.But the first time I made them he looked at them weird. I always know when Jack likes what he is eating. He makes this really really weird sound in the back of his throat when he eats. hahaha

  2. LMAO @ "prison food".....my husband is picky too, Ive learned to (like you did) make what I like and eat what I like. I do keep in mind what HE likes, I just detach myself so that if he acts like its poison and eats a big bowl of Count Chocula instead it doesnt cause World War 3!
PS. Ive been meaning to say--I dont know how you control yourself with those fruit crisps. I cant even LOOK at them now on my low carb plan, but in the past, If I bought a box--Id EAT the box within a day or two. Something about fruit and crispy pastry-like stuff together sends me over the edge!

  3. Ariel: I can't find them to buy in a store, I get them from some friends of mine who serve them on the airline they work for. Knowing that I only have a limited amount of them and not knowing when I'll be able to get more goes a long way to helping me with self-control.

I was also getting those 90 calorie snickers ice cream bars and I was worried I'd go through a box of 20 bars in 20 days but they actually ended up lasting me several months. I have Reese's 100 Calorie snack packs that have been in the cupboard for months too.

  4. Renea: sorry I meant to respond to you also in my last post but I'm watching "Too Young to Kill" and got distracted lol. I now have 14 cups of prison soup to eat single handedly ... lol. Ya'll are going to be seeing a lot of prison soup on my food list for the next while but it's surprisingly low cal so I guess I could do a lot worse.
