It doesn't hurt anymore

Well guys and dolls I knew that this day would come and it finally has.  Last night I went to the gym, walked my two miles at 3.2 miles per hour, drove home, got out of the car and ... *cue choir of angels* my legs hadn't locked up on me!  YAY!  So I guess that means it's time to up the distance, though I think I'm going to go one more week at 10 miles just to be safe.  Even though my legs didn't freeze up my knee did feel like it was slipping in and out a lot over the weekend and since my knee has slipped out before ... I don't want to take chances.  It's painful.

So the Rock n Roll marathon is 14 miles (if memory serves?) so I figure I'll finish out this week at 10 miles, go next week at 10 miles, and then do 14 miles per week after that.  Once that gets easy I'll start working on being able to do a certain number of miles per day and then start gradually increasing that as well.

There is a small down-side to losing this weight, very small.  I may have mentioned this before but my ring doesn't fit anymore. :(  If I'm typing or crocheting it just spins on my finger and I find myself frequently taking it off and setting in on my desk or table because it drives me nuts.

  1. Exercise does a body good. Are you still walking at 3.2 mph or jogging? I can only do about 2.4 mph now. 3.2 seems like it would almost be a jog for me. I haven't walked much in the last couple of weeks due to bronchitis. I plan on getting back on the treadmill tomorrow even if I have to close slower to breathe.

Glad the legs aren't locking up and hope the knee stays in place. I hate knee pain but am all too familiar with it.

  3. Tammy; 3.2 is a comfortable yet thrifty walking speed for me. 3.4 like I did last night was quite vigorous but still walking. I hadn't heard you had bronchitis, that sucks. I hope you feel better soon.

Brandon: MY HERO!!! I didn't even know these things existed, thank you!

  5. My boobs are shrinking. It's ok mom you can say it. BUT ... I think they look a little closer together in the new pic don't you? Or am I wishful thinking? I am fairly convinced that my reward for myself when I've lost every last lb will be a boob job. Don't tell dad, we know how it upset him last time I mentioned it. I don't plan on going much bigger just more shapely so if he notices we'll just tell him that it's because I'm doing a lot of toning exercises on my upper body. :)
