Well, the day I thought would never come is here. I've become a member of the author's club. After being rejected by over a dozen different publishers because "the market is saturated with vampire books" (their words), I decided to self-publish on Amazon because vampire book enthusieists like me just can't get enough of them. I've read every one I can find, some suck, some are good but I read them all seeking the gems among the rough.
I first started writing short stories and poetry when I was a kid but could never finish a story to save my life. Last year I finally woke up one morning with an idea: an idea that had a beginning, middle, and end - so I wrote it.
I'll be the first to admit it's not the best book I'll ever write (the one I'm working on now is going to be awesome) but I did make myself cry while writing my own ending ... that's saying something right? :) I'm not expecting to become super famous over night or for this book to ever hit the #1 best seller's list but it feels good to finish something like this and see it through, all the way to print. I even did my own cover.
So the eBook version is available on Amazon already. I have ordered the proof for the print version and am awaiting it's arrival. Once I proof it, if there aren't any major formatting issues, I'll be able to submit the paperback for print-to-order which means Amazon will print each copy as it is ordered so there will be no up-front costs on my part which is nice. This is a great way to start the day ... I'm feeling pretty good about it.
Oh yeah! Here's the link in case anyone is curious. :)
Oh, and as a side-note: I weighed just for shits and giggles at 5 a.m. this morning: 225!!!! BOOM BABY!!!!

Walking: Walked to the mailbox and back where I found my copy of my book, in print. YAY!
Walking: We were the visiting team for football this week so we had to walk from the back parking lot to the field entrance. Climbed the stadium steps 3.5 times and then walked back to the car.
Not Active: Spent the rest of the day reading my author's copy of my book. I couldn't put it down! The ending even made me cry ... again!
You go girl. Congratulations on the book and weight loss. Keep living your dreams: this makes them reality.
